Mad Max
The fast touring and all-round trike with full suspension
There are two Mad Max designs:
Version 1: Mad Max: 18 inch front wheels, 20 inch rear wheels
Version 2: Mad Max: 18 inch front wheels, 26 inch rear wheels
The Mad Max is the most versatile, fully sprung trike on the market. With a turning circle of only 2.95m and a narrow 69.5cm track width, it is an ideal companion for riding around town. With the double wish bone, the Mad Max has a spring extension of 65mm at the front and 75mm at the rear. Regardless of whether you are riding over poorly lowered, uneven curbs or rough woodland paths, the chassis, which has been specially adjusted for you, will absorb every bump. Thanks to a ground clearance of 15cm, even woodland paths are no longer a problem.
The way in which the rising-rate suspension is configured, results in a long spring extension and a particularly comfortable fit. Only this elaborate construction (taken from the car industry) shows no perceptible breakaway torque and offers optimum control of the wheel camber over the length of the spring extension.
A further advantage of the narrow track width, combined with the low seat height of 27cm and the high position of the pedal bearing, is the very small frontal area. With this, you can achieve a high top speed. You travel faster and more comfortably than with a normal three wheeler.
With a folding pedal bearing post, it is possible to stow the trike in a small car in no time. If you are travelling by air, pull the rear assembly out of the main frame and the whole trike can be stowed in a two wheeler bike container.

Mad Max Sport
In contrast to the Mad Max, the Mad Max Sport has a 26 inch rear wheel. This Dragster look is everything you always wanted and invites you to a zippy ride. Coupled with our good steering geometry, the turning circle is uniquely small in this version as well – only 3.45m (edge-edge).
A light, low-rider pannier rack for 2 large panniers (approx. 60 litre maximum stowage volume) can be fitted for your luggage. The luggage sits right at the front (as is customary with the Steins), so that the trike can still reach a high cornering speed fully loaded.
To maintain the main frame geometry for all variations, the rear shock absorbers can be installed in different positions.
